These is strong evidence that being off an interstate is a major disadvantage. More than 20 years ago, the state of Georgia looked at population growth by county over a three year period. Note, EVERY single county in Georgia with an interstate passing through showed a population gain over the three year period. Also note, EVERY county without an interstate passing through loss population during the three year period. Interstates appear to be magnets for industries.
