This advise was presented by Patrick Dorinson about “Cowboy Wisdom” in today’s Fox Forum. Even though this was directed toward our current President, it is good advise for many of us in everyday life.

The five things that are suggested are

1. Never Drop Your Gun to Hug a Grizzly Bear.

2. Never Be too Quick to Criticize Yourself. It’s Not Fair to All Your Friends and Relatives who are Dyin’ to Do It for You.

3. Too Much Debt Doubles the Weight of Your Horse and Puts Another In Control of the Reins.

4. Don’t Go In if You Don’t Know the Way Out.

5. If You’re Riding Ahead of the Herd, Take a Look Back Every Now and Then to Make Sure It’s Still There.

My modification of #5 would include “and if you are riding behind the herd be careful where you step.”
