You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. The one time I needed a kill switch it definitely saved tremendous damage and quite possibly lives. Ask anyone that was around Veazeys Marina on July 3, 1988 when my steering cable broke and threw everything out of the boat including me, the wife, child and dog right in front of the bouys. IF not for the kill switch the boat would have run over numerous people, boats, piers, gas pumps, etc. until some catastophe stopped it and/or sank it.
