Yesterday 3 men in a smallish boat came to the end of our slough, peered at the woods with binoculars, then they made notations in a notebook. Just curious about what they were doing. Birdwatching?

They may have been bird counting. I seem to recall that some time in December there is a national bird counting effort.

Maybe they were looking for their lost dog who had no tags or chip. Could they have lost their bumpers when the water rose temporarily?

They were county tax appraisers trying to figure an increase in your property taxes even though housing prices are dow two years now, they are comspiring to raise taxes.

it may have been Alabama Power personnel. They are doing a lake wide survey on all structures in the lake--about 15,000. It's part of the relicensing process.

-Did anyone check to see if they were from "afar" and carrying gifts, ..and looking for a ....hmmm, probably not here!
