See the attached url. IF TRUE, so much for him being an unbiased voice. It would surprise me to find out its true even though I can believe it about pMSNBC but thought Scarborough had a bit more sense.

Come on. Joe is a Republican and he makes no bones about it. I've been watching his show for the last 2 years, and they normally have a wide variety of guests.
From what I've observed, Joe is a moderate Republican, not an extreme right winger. So I'm not sure where this guy gets his information, but Joe probably said something that he didn't agree with -- and suddenly he decides they are taking direction from the WH. Give me a break.

Hound, maybe you are right. But if this story is correct wouldn't it bother you? If you found out that the Bush administration was on the phone during the Hannity show don't tell me you would not be up in arms. Frankly, if I found that out I would not watch him anymore either. Its one thing to be kindred spirits but quite another to be a mouthpiece. If you notice, I only asked the question and expressed some doubt. But you are so easy to dismiss this even though you know the Obama administration has been very overt in their co-opting the media or attacking those that they oppose. This is simply not outside the realm of possible despite your dismissive response. So quick to assume the worst with anyone on the right but never the Messiah. I will wait and see if this has legs......

Actually I was watching the show the morning that all this happened.......thought it kinda funny that Obama Care was getting chewed up by a lib such as Ed Schultz..........and H Dean was given lots of play for his turn against the bill. All of a sudden, Joe and Mika grabbed their Comm devices on air and announced that the WH was calling and that David A would be joining them by phone. Ed S looked shocked, but recovered to ask a pretty tough question when given a chance by Joe. You could tell it was unexpected because they had "prepped" that another guest would join them that never did.........the remainder of the broadcast was finished out with non stop commercials that was unusual. Seemed strange at the time that the WH was monitoring the show in real time and was johnny on the spot ready for a phone interview. This doesn't bother me too much, because Joe and Co are entertainers.......no different than Rush, Keith, Rachel, Beck,(except for their content) etc......now if this happens on the news programs that are masquerading as straight and unbiased we'll have another set of issues to ponder...........

Considering that Health Reform is either going up or down within a very small timeframe, I suspect the White House is going to pull out everything from a PR to get it passed. This is an example of an aggressive posture by Axelrod to call in and join the debate. There was a good mix of right and left so I think trying to read too much into this is misguided. Afterall. Joe is not exactly left of center. I could understand some questioning if the call had been placed to Keith O.

I suppose I would be used to it but it doesn't seem to bother you that the White House could simultaneously reach the Blackberry's of both Scarborough and his co-host int he middle of a show. What a surprise after years of foaming at the mouth leftists wanting to shut down talk radio because it was allegedly an arm of the Bush WH (despite no evidence that any host took questions directly from the Rove while a show was ongoing). Your double standards have a double standard......

The WH has said that they manipulate the press to their advantage, so it should come as no surprise. As far as self-policing..... right, that will happen. We are stuck yet again with trying to determine the difference between information and propaganda - which, like patriot or terrorist, the call is made simply by whose side you are on.

The point of interest here is not that the White House is trying to, or is, manipulating the media; the White House always tries to do this.
-Teh issue here is that the news media, journalists, etc., let themselves be manipulated, ...want themselves to be manipulate, ...go out of their way to get themselves manipulated.
-IN the past, most journalists (not all of course) would act to protect the integrity of the fourth estate. That no longer seems the case.
-I spent many yers studying the former Soviet Union and that meant reading their newspapers and journals. The US citizen today has to be much like the former Soviet Union citizen, he/she has to read between the lines of news reports, ...must assess the source, ...know the party issues ...understand the reasoning for the lies... and only then, try to reach a bottom line.
-sad to say, we seem to be nearing that point!
