Does anyone have a guess as to why Alabama Power is keeping the lake pulled down so low this year? It didn't get much lower than this during the drought a couple of years ago.

According to the lake level chart that you can access from the LM home page, we are currently at 483.59. If you highlight 2007 the best I can determine the low point was 474.5 around Dec 10th.

I am on Weiss Lake. As of 10:00 AM this morning the lake was 6.86 below summer pool. That's almost a foot below rule. I guess I'm just nuts because for the life of me I don't understand why they have to pull it so low. One would think they would let us know why since our property (boats etc.) are effected by the water level.
