Capt Brooks.....would this be a good meeting to address the following: I own a house on Lake Martin and pay taxes in Tallapoosa County yet I cannot buy a fishing licenses without paying the out of state fee. I am not a full time resident of Alabama but I pay taxes as if I'm a full time resident. I look forward to your answer on this situation.

Captain Brooks, is there an agenda for the meeting including topics to be discussed such as new rules or regs governing Alabama lakes, etc.?

It's not often that you have the commissioner, the directors of the department's divisions and the members of the advisory board in one room, so I'd say it's the ideal place and time to discuss your concerns with them.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. for anyone wishing to address the board...and each person who registers is given 3 minutes of microphone time to do so. After the registration period is closed, the department's assistants compile the agenda and pass it out to the audience members. These meetings really are user-driven.

Here is a link to one of last year's meeting's minutes so you can have an idea how it proceeds:

that topics covered by CAB are of concern for all lakes and parks in the State of Alabama this information needs to be posted either in offtopic (each lakes online site shares that forum) or links placed at each site. ex. www.loganmartin.info, smith lake site, etc. I'll try to post a link in Off Topic, that way all Alabama lake enthusiast will get to see the info. Thanks Cap Brooks.
