I'm a junior at Auburn trying to find the absolute cheapest house on the lake to rent for roughly three months (exams end May 11 and class begins again August 18). I also need a summer job on the lake, but that is not what is giving me the most trouble right now. Pretty much all I'm looking for is a place that can sleep three people and that has four walls and a dock - basically a shack will do. If anyone has a place like this, knows of someone who does, or has any other suggestions please reply.

Thanks

The first thing you need to do is transfer from Auburn.....

You may want to contact a realtor, who often also act as rental agents. They usually know when a rental is coming on the market.

May want to check out the Ridge - there are a few shacks available over there.

Seriously, you are looking during the prime vacation season and a cheap rental on the water may not exist. You might want to consider a rental in Dadeville or Alex city, then drive to the lake.

First call Academy Sports, and get a good deal on a tent, then call Wind Creek State Park and reserve a spot for three months. I think the Waffle House/Huddle House at 280 and 63 was looking for help in case your job falls through.

a serious answer from adults. You should check with Russell Lands. They are the largest land owner and employer.
