They open tonight at 5pm. I saw them outside yesterday and stopped to ask when they would be open. I sure hope it makes it more than one season this time.

For those that don't know it is where the old GRillin Shack, JR's, Jay's, Angels Wings, and Lean Too Cafe used to be. Right next to Siggers Market.

I'm beginning to believe this building is located on sacred Indian burial ground! Maybe an occasional "wampum" night will bring them good luck.

Cross Roads had a soft opening last night and we were there around 6:00pm. They have not received their pouring licenses yet so we had soft drinks. They have applied for the license and feel they should have them in a few days. They will at that time have a full service bar (beer, wine and mixed drinks). I had the hamburger steak and it was thick and very tasty and the sides were very good. The wife had wings and I tell you they were the biggest wings I have ever seen and I've eaten wings from the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY (the original home of the Buffalo Wing) to just about every Hooters in the southeast. She ordered 12 wings and could only eat half of them. The owners will be working on site and are looking for advise on their staff, service and food. I feel we need to support these folks as long as they give good service and food at a reasonable price. We will eat there again this weekend.

I wish them all the luck. I really do.
This time next year it will be someone else throwing their money down that drain hole. I'd love to be proved wrong. But several failures in a row suggests otherwise.
Same same for Frankies.

I lost money on installing security there years ago so, I wont touch the place. Left a bad taste in my mouth (sorta speak).

Sorry folks, but I can't endorse this place. We arrived at 6:00 this past Saturday and the cooks, wait staff and owners (I think) were sitting outside at the smoke bucket, using it. There was not other vehicle in customer parking but mine. We (and the above staff) walked in together. The server gave us a menu and IMMEDIATELY asked what we wanted to order (we were the only ones in the place, so no rush, right?) I asked her to give us a minute and she stood by our table and sang along with the CMT video which was blaring from the tv while we looked over the menu.

Unless you like fried food, catfish or red meat, there is nothing there (no beer even, they are waiting on a license). I told my wife we were leaving, but she was embarrassed and ordered a hamburger steak which she said was good. I sat and listened to our waitress roam around the restaurant singing along with CMT (no beer) until my wife finished. I went to the Mexican restaurant and ordered to go, took it home and had some already paid for beer.

I give them til August.
