The phone number good last season still says disconnected -- and while I haven't had time to check since we got here last night, it's now May 8 and I'm concluding that finally Veazy's Marina has closed, not to reopen this summer. (They definitely were not open last time I was up here three weeks ago, and I hoped maybe it was just a bit early in the season.) Anyone got a more optimistic status update? Or anything like the official word?

Is shut down but is for sale. A group of investors are currently looking at purchasing the property and starting it back up, but that is still a good ways out. Russell lands might also look at a purchase to support the 3 subdivisions they have in the area.

I wish I had the funds to make that purchase. It is a great location and our side of the lake needs it. Plus it has been there forever, it just won't be right for Veazey's to be closed.
