Has anybody been catching any fish? Have heard it has been slow and I was thinking that I might come down and fish for the weekend.Any help would be appreciated.

I went in the Big Kowaliga area last week Saturday and again this past Sunday. Conditions were ideal for stripes on top. Trouble was, I couldn't get them to hit the spooks or spoons I was throwing. They seemed to be filling up on very small minnows.
I tried trolling with spoons and swim baits. Marked lots of bait, but never saw a mark below the boat that looked like a striper. It seems like they are staying high in the water column and gorging on the latest hatch.
Some of the pros may be having better luck downlining live shad.

Your best bet is to stay on the humps and points with live bait. Troll your spoons around 25 feet deep white or pink. Have not seen many fish on top but I always keep a bone color red fin tied on.
