Hubcap occasionally delights his fans with nostalgic listings of things and memories from the past. Well today while in the bank I saw a man filling out a check with a real honest to God old time fountain pen. I suddenly realized, that even though I used to write and sketch with a fountain pen every day, it has probably been 30 years since I have done so. Has the fountain pen gone the way of rotary dial phones and those wonderful little front vent windows on cars, or do any of you still use a "real" pen?  Just wondering.

Not used one in about that many years.  Tried to find a pocket protector lately?  There's a reason we used to use them.

I do still get out my slide-rule on occasion just to admire it's craftsmanship and precision!

I remember a few leaking in my shirt pocket as a kid at St.Bede's,it made a giant mess. I remember poping the small enclosed plastic ink tank in the back....It was adventurous! The ones with the bladder that you sucked the ink out of a ink well were really tricky to make work! I would have liked to have seen the man at the bank using one...Or was that a cartoon called hubcap?
