Here's a statement found on Logan Martin Lake Protection Association Earlier this week LMLPA Vice President Mike Riley spoke with Dennis Trammel (Alabama Power Shoreline Management). Dennis said a new variance will be in place starting today for the lake level to be maintained at 462 feet, which is two feet above normal winter pool. We all know this could change depending on the weather but as of right now this is what we know. Dennis is planning on coming to the LMLPA General Meeting on March 17th at the Pell City Civic Center. Going to the meeting Thursday would be a chance to voice opinions. We'll see if they hold to the 462.

Seems Mr Trammell went to the same school as some of our politicians....... Lake Conditions Message Effective - 3/17/2011 On December 10, 2010, the Corps of Engineers approved an elevation variance for Logan Martin to store water up to elevation 461 msl, which is 1 foot higher than normal winter pool. Expect to see lake levels somewhat higher than normal for this time of year. Individuals with boats and water-related equipment and facilities should always stay alert to changing conditions and be prepared to take the necessary steps to protect their property.
