Sears still does repairs almost anywhere......one of the few things I think they still do reasonably well.

When our refrigerator failed we had both Alabama Power and Sears Repair come and give us a quote. They both had  identical parts costs ($800 under the warranty). For labor Alabama Power had $600 and Sears had $300.

We used Sears and they did an excellent job.

Sutton Appliance Repair in Wadley. 256-395-4506

We have had them out more than once and never had a problem with the repairs. Washing machine to refrigerator. Very reasonable.

Ditto on Sutton. Good folks. Sears has turned into a real ripoff, in my opinion.

another thing I like....if you decide the repair is too expensive and the equipment needs replacing, Sears will apply the price of the service call to a new purchase (at least that was the policy last time we used them); we did that with a fridge.

I had another technician who went through and explained several easy techniques on how maintain our ice maker when it was on the fritz....that was 5 years ago. I was actually prepared to buy a new one for 1500+ back then, but the old one still going strong after he replaced a switching part and told me what to do for longevity (for a total price of under $200). I too have found that their prices are usually less than competitors, and the benefits I listed above keeps me coming back.
