Do you know where your bees were last night?

For Christmas, I got a jar of local honey and I have been enjoying it.  It has a much richer taste than anything that I've bought in the grocery store.  I've read that most of the stuff in the grocery store isn't even from the US -- apparently honey is another thing we import from China.  Got to read those labels.  Ever notice how often it says "distributed by" some US country, but of course that is not the same as being made or origin US.

We have ordered some bees from a guy in Dadeville and are looking forward to starting this spring. Incidentally, if you are "going local" with your honey purchases, I think you have to buy honey made within 60 or so miles from you to benefit from the anti allergy stuff in it.  Not that these guys in TN don't look nice, I don't want to discourage anyone from buying from them. But there are lots of good sources for Lake Martin honey and bees.

Sure. I really posted the site because of the information on it..not advertising the honey...although I'll bet it's tops.
