Looking for opinions on a problem concerning a 1997 Mariner 90HP two stroke. Initial problem was at high throttle while the boat was on plane the motor would miss or sometimes the motor would just throttle back down the it would speed back up. I am almost positive it is some kind of fuel issue. Removed all three carbs and cleaned them. Blew out the carbs with carb cleaner. Carbs looked new inside before cleaning with no varnish or residue. Cleaned spark plugs. I doubt it is water in the gas b/c the tank has been filled with new ethanol free gas and I have a water seperator. The last thing that happened was that the primer bulb keeps pumping fuel into the motor. The fuel system never seems to get full and the bulb never develops the resistance that the fuel system is primed. I noticed that the fuel may be coming out the exhaust. Checked all the fuel lines and it appears none are leaking. I am thinking that my initial problems are related to the fuel pump was going bad and it finally went completely bad and the primer buld is bypassing the bad fuel pump.

After 15 years of working on this motor I may have to swallow my pride on this one and take it to a repair shop. This one has got me!!!!

Put new diaphrams in your "pulser pump".  While you are at it, replace the primer bulb and line with new hose.  Also, you need to hook up the carbs to a  "Vacumate" system and sinc them all together so that they are all the same.  While you are at it, go ahead and replace the fuel line connector at the engine.  the little plastic clip on one if you got that type.  My .02 worth anyhow.

Have you replaced fuel hose from tank to motor. The bulb may be shot. Take it to Cat and get if fixed and enjoy it rather have it break down in the middle of the lake.
