Took the family of four by boat around 7 o'clock. All but two of the slips were taken. Everyone double parked between each slip the way it was designed. As we walked up to restaurant through the back porch, every table was taken, must have been close to 75 eating on back porch. As we headed to the hostess stand to check on wait, the main dining room was completely full, another 70 people. The hostess informed us we would have a 30 minute wait for outside seating or could be seated immediately at a high top table in the newly designed side bar dining room (TVs and a completed rectangular bar that seats around 30 at the bar). Since we had two hungry kids, we decided to seat immediately. Our waitress was prompt and very friendly. She told after we asked, that she drives in from Prattville on the weekends to work. Very impressive to see the lake draw this kind of talent from so many miles away. The kids ordered crab claws and wings. Wife and I had the boneless pork chop and ribeye. Meal was very good and everything was exactly the way we would expect for a total tab including beverages (adult and kids) around 100. Saw many familiar faces we havent seen in awhile. It was a festive crowd that was building to a completely packed house( all three dining areas were full, bar space included when we left). Seemed like a good part of the crowd was down this weekend for several reasons....1. The weather 2. The higher lake level at this date  3. The Auburn home game 4. Alabama playing away 5. The beautiful lake we all enjoy.

I wanted to take this moment a write about this truly wonderful experience. The cool morning and good coffee inspired me to post after many many months.

I appreciate your post. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with posting about a negative experience, it seems we do not get much balance and it would lead people to believe every place is bad. That, of course, is not the case. I have been to Kowaliga maybe 6 times. Overall, I like the food, price and service. Is it perfect? Was I always treated perfectly? No, but isn't that the case almost anywhere? I, for one, am delighted it is here. I ate last night at Harbor Docks. Like you, I went by boat. I had a great snapper dinner with a very, very good waitress. Again, thanks for posting this. In my opinion, we need to be as patient as possible with any new restaurant to let them make the adjustments that will always be required. Now, back to my 3rd cup of coffee as I enjoy the beautiful Lake.

We eat at Kowaliga at least once a week. The service is good, food is fine, parking good and it is clean.
