Just wanted to let people on Sandy Creek know there is a person/people -- on a boat -- going to docks and stealing things not nailed down.

We had two Adirondack chairs taken from our dock sometime in the past few weeks.  They were not super expensive-- but who motors up to docks and snacthes chairs?  Our dock is in open water too-- so it was pretty daring. Not to mention the water is low so they had to climb up a ladder or pull themselves up from their boat to get on the dock. It required some true effort. Just a warning-- put your stuff up because apparently there are losers out there who want it. We are at the end of Sandy Creek around Sandy Creek Estates and Quail Hollow.

Last weekend we had a super strong wind storm. If you are on thew open water it might of been around 40 MPH. That type of wind will make chairs fly 20 to 30 feet. I am not saying you were not ripped-off, but you might want to look into the water around your dock.

I have two chairs in the water right now.  Since they are cheap plastic, I will just wait until the water goes down and just pick them up.  I have fished them out many times over the years, as well as the table and even the umbrella.

We looked but didn't see them... They are wood so kind of heavy... But I do hope the wind was the thief and not a person!!

The water should drop a bit more and we will look again next weekend. I'll post when we get to the bottom of this thing. Pun intended. ??

My guess is the culprit is the subject of a Kingston Trio song "Maria".

Also in Sandy Creek...  Got a call from a neighbor that two men in a fishing boat, maybe a 50 HP outboard, visited our place October 27th or 28th.  He said one walked up to the house, then he heard hammering on the pier.  When I checked, if they were trying to reattach some 2 X 4's that ring the top of the floating pier they were unsuccessful.  However, one of the bolts that attaches the floater to the fixed pier was missing a nut, and was just through one of the mount holes.  I guess all of the recent boat traffic knocked it loose...
