So the fraud (I know Archie, there is never any fraud unless it is  perpetrated by Trump) reported by the Department of Labor associated with COVID relief monies going to states for expanded unemployment benefits totals AS OF NOW 36 BILLION DOLLARS.  That's right, and as many of you may reply, that seems a bit higher than what was paid in 2019 for all unemployment benefits.  Yes, you are correct.  that number was 29 Billion.  So those of us who were advocating for slowing down the money spigot until states were able to catch up with verification requirements (sounds familiar does it not) were actually right on the money.  All it takes is getting names, harvesting SS #'s and birth dates from hacked data bases, sweeten that with your mother's maiden name, HS mascot and place of birth harvested from sites like Familytreenow and Truthfinder and voila, you have a 1 in 6 chance of getting your share of the piles of money thrown out by our bureaucrats.  

And you want me to believe that states have absolute control over their election processes.....only the dimwitted (fill in the blank) would believe so.

I love how you equate possible unemploment fraud with voting fraud.

I am convinced Trump lost the election because he is an idiot. If he had encouraged his supporters to get a mail in ballot he would have picked up 12,000 votes in Georgia and won some of the other close states. All he did was set up an excuse if he lost...that I told you there was fraud with the mail in. If there was going to be fraud...there would be fraud if Trump's supporters voted by mail or not. He blew it and now you and MM want to steal it.

You and MM do alot of complaining without any voter fraud evidence. It may well exist...but no proof so far.  Where are all those who witnessed it? There have been so many postings and articles but nothing has been proven. It has been 60 days Doc and nothing.

Being a sore loser does not mean there was fraud. The Right wants one party and no elections. Sound familiar?????

Wed will just be another defeat for Trump. Pence will say the vote is 306 for Biden and 232 for Trump and Moscow Mitch will be the one to say...The vote is 55 nays and 45 yays. The motion is defeated.

And, I hope a commission is formed to investigate and recommends changes.

As 4D Chess and your support for Trump's call, I wonder what your response would have been been if Obama had done something like that?

I don't think this is anything new and is just another avenue for the fraudsters to do their thing.  It's one of many, many reasons I believe in limited government and subsidiarity.  The more money they control the more people that will want to get access to the treasury by legal or illegal means.  And we also know that government doesn't do many things well....especially not the management of our treasure.

So Archie, back to the question regarding COVID relief to those who did not incur any drop in income, but meet the threshold.  Are you indifferent to the fraud claim because, as you said, those that receive the money, including the criminals that committed the fraud, will spend it on luxury and investment opportunites?  This was my point from the get go.  Too much money being distributed in a haphazard fashion by an incompetenet Treasury with state oversight that is just as incompetent.  Cannot the private sector offer solutions for distribution that would offer competition to a bloated gov't?  That was what Trump did for four years, and the establishment hated him for it.

in a time frame that does some good for the people and the economy?  Point One...I believe the previous thread was about direct to individual payments where you suggested a stupid and impractical way to determine elligibility, not unemployment.  For those payments, when it's an emergency it is best to act across the board based on info already available (IRS filings, Welfare and SS info, etc) rather than taking the time set up a bureacratic maze of red tape to gather ''proof'' of income loss to make sure nobody gets a nickle that they don't qualify to receive.  OH, of course, for you no problem!  All along you have downplayed this crisis as being a non-crisis.  Wake up!

I don't give a rat's fanny what any recepient spends it on as long as they spend it and get it flowing through the economy!  Econ 101!

I'm sure you are upset because you will soon be paying more taxes.  Since I earn less than $400,000 no change for me!

The ideal answer to your question is certainly beyond my pay grade, but I would certainly surmise that institutions already exist, such as Financial Market Utilities, that would be able to oversee, and help states distribute these kinds of monies with little chance of fraud.  The fact that we toss around numbers like Trillions and Billions so casually, especially when it comes down to fraud, that your Econ 101 course is now and has been for a long time, utterly obsolete.
