His lesson is that he isn't Barack Obama.  As he is learning even the Glen Kessler's and George Stephonpolis's of the world can't ignore this kind of red meat.  And besides, imagine the pats on the back if their coverage forces him out and they can take credit for not only installing the first female POTUS, but one who isn't an unlikable, incompetent and thoroughly corrupt old, white women.  Nope, they will help install an unlikable, incompetent, corrupt younger non-white woman.

And I will say this about Obama, I don't believe he would have mucked this up like Biden has.  I think he was a terrible President but he wasn't a doddering, senile old fool being directed by morons.  He just believed things that were simply not true like most progressives.  Either way, I am quickly reaching a point where I don't think Biden can survive this.  If the Taliban takes American hostages or worse, starts to execute them, we will be back in there needlessly losing more American lives to try to save the rest.  Meanwhile, our real enemies China and Russia will have a field day.

I read the transcript of the Stepenpolis interview - it is insane.  But I think he will survive this, because his base doesn't really care about international relations, they only care about what freebies he's going to give them.  They are more interested in the 3.75Trillion legislations that will provide the freebies than they are what is going on in Afghanistan.  As HW Bush found out, a year can make a huge difference in how people perceive you.   

I'm not saying that Biden isn't doing a horrible job.  Just his remarks about how chaos was "inevitable" in the pull out, tells anyone who is listening what an asshat he is.  He can go to Europe and say "America is back" but they see the truth.  But if they push him out, we have Harris to look forward to, who is so far in over her head that she is useless and will only push the far left agenda, and failing her, Pelosi is next in line.  Just a complete round of terrible choices. 

I really hope that Trump gets out of the way and a good Republican candidate wins the nomination for 2024 and that the Republicans take back the Congress in the midterms.  Trump's personality  is too polarizing to do anything at this point.

   I realize that Trump is polarizing. New Yorkers tend to be that way however he keeps his word and gets more things done than anyone I have ever seen even in spite of the worst sabotage any president in history faced! Washington hates him because he shows how totally incompetent they are and perhaps disloyal.

I agree, but I think there are other Republicans who could do the same and not be as polarizing.  I agree that his instincts were right about a lot of things and he did a lot of good things - but by the end of his Presidentcy, he became a charicature of his own worst habits.  I believe he would have won if he had just played up his accomplishments and stood on his record.  I think he now has too much baggage to be effective.  He never learned how to tell people to go to hell and make them look forward to the trip.

I am of the notion that, in his mind, being Donald Trump is what got him elected and he saw no need to change.  Maybe now he understands that the adjectives applicable the job are presidential, diplomatic, and empathetic.  Combative, crude, and revengeful aren't on that list and those traits...plus being Republican...are a major factor in his not being reelected.

I don't think he would change.  it's been his personality for years before he was in the political arena - when he was just a NYC real estate developer, he publicly fought and insulted people.  I think he enjoys it.  

And like most politicians, he plays to his base - in this case the far right, too often.  You will note that Biden was elected as a "centrist", but has proved to be more concerned with his far left and minority voters.

Glad the battery worked out. This is your 3rd year. For peace of mind, I would replace it next spring. Never understood boaters who like to see how many years before they get stranded with a dead one. Not like they cost hundreds...$100 or $35 per year and smooth sailing. Guess it comes from my Coast Guard days towing  boaters with a dead battery.

Probably will. We let some acquaintances use the cabin for a weekend and one of their darlingsleft the nav lights on. Our next time up the voltmeter wouldn't budge. In my experience once a battery is down like that it never fully recovers.

Take it to Advance Auto. They will check it and give you a print out. Ask them if they can put it on a slow charge. Slow is much better than a fast charge. The print out will show the cold amps compared to when it was new. Ask if charging it will get you through this season. Personally, if it holds a charge I would take it out each time and take it home. Get a trickle charger. I would want to avoid having them charge it and then leaving it in the pontoon not knowing when I would be back to the lake.

Then, next spring..."spring" for a new one.
