I suppose in a vain attempt to make oil prices move like his approval numbers, Dementia Joe released 50M barrels of oil from the Strategic Reserve over several months. Someone needs to tell Ron Klain and Susan Rice that this country uses 20M barrels of oil every single day so the release of two and a half days of oil is not exactly going to reduce prices....what absolute incompetent morons we have running our senile President. Oh and by the way, they have been releasing oil from the reserve over the last year as prices have exploded.
How about this idea. Announce you will allow the completion of the Keystone Pipeline and open up exploration in all the areas you closed. That will start to drive down oil prices. Encourage domestic exploration and production. I know, you are probably getting economic advice from AOC who despite having a degree in the dismal science doesn't understand supply and demand. The only things she understands is progressive socialism, woke, political correctness. In essence, she is dumb as a rock.

Guess he finally decided to help here since he has been helping for months shipping the petro reserve oversees, and the same Demorats cheering the use of the SPR to help lower gas costs now, were the same ones screeching about Trump toping it off during Covid at record low prices. Maybe senility is not just a problem for Xiden - maybe it effects liberals in general more then rational people.....
About 1.6 million barrels of crude from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve — a monthly record — was shipped out in October, according to data from market intelligence firm Kpler.
All three supertankers went to Asia.
“Given the ongoing pace of the current SPR release — 12 million barrels in the last two months and the biggest weekly release so far last week at 3.1 million barrels — it’s fair to assume more SPR barrels are going to leave U.S. shores in the weeks ahead,” said Matt Smith, an oil analyst at Kpler.

As a geologist I should know better than to insult rocks. Usually I refer to someone as dumb as her as having the intellectual abilities of a small soap dish but I have gotten a cease and desist order from the National Small Soap Dish Association claiming I am defaming them by comparing them to morons like AOC, Brian Stelter, et al. I will try to be better.

And drop the restrictions he imposed on federal and offshore oil leases. And BTW, what are those shiny and smooth white rocks I see on the lake bed? Look like quartz? I use them to fill in holes in my ancient sea wall.

If they are shiny and smooth they could be quartz, plagioclase or feldspar. All are present in the granitic/diorite gneiss bedrock around Lake Martin. They are all blocky shaped minerals but can be rounded and smoothed due to weathering. Interestingly the reddish soil around Lake Martin is what is known as residual soil which forms from the in-site chemical weathering of the bedrock. Not your typical sedimentary rock that is weathered into small particles, transported by water and deposited like you would see with sandstones, silts, etc. The outcrops are bedrock types that are more resistant to weathering.

Interesting stuff MM! I googled Feldspar and the image is consistent with what I see. Then I googled Plagiocase, and I have some of that too! So the sand that we see washed up in slews or on the shoreline is from sedimentary rock weathering? In a man made lake? Is there a difference between the white sand and the grey/brown sand? I have both. I will often shovel the grey/brown sand from the lake bed in winter and use much like river sand for turf leveling and topgrading adjacent to my seawall. (don't tell APC)
Happy Thanksgiving!

You will see transport and deposition of sediment in the streams that feed the lake as well as along the shoreline caused by wave action. It can either be from erosion of the bedrock or the residual soil. The darker sand has a higher proportion of fine material that is usually silts and clays from the residual soil being eroded and combined with the sand particles. The cleaner looking sands are mostly quartz and feldspar/plagioclase particles and are usually deposited in areas with higher energy that removes the finer, dark particles. May also represent erosion of the bedrock which will be mostly the quartz and plagioclase/feldspar and hence, whiter in appearance.

Apparently yesterday, while he was telling us how rosy everything is- courtesy of his Admin, of coure - he read a quote from the teleprompter and then said "end statement". Yes, he took the technical directions from the tleleprompter and read them outloud. He didn't take any questions, because of course, there weren't any curated questions for which he could be provided the ansser, so he husbled himself out of there pretty quick. But, he has announced that he intends to run for re-election in 2024....He turned 79 yesterday, so you do the math. I expect he'll be drooling by then.

Trump fills the reserve when the price is in the -$36/barrel neighborhood. Right, they pay you to take it.
Watch Biden empty it, then get us into a big problem so that we don't have enough gas for a chainsaw.
