Every time I have compared notes or checked postings, Verizon seems to get the most votes for best service on Lake Martin.  If anyone has tried Spectrum wireless, could you post your thoughts about reliability on the lake?

I have had Verizon wireless for over 20 years.  I live and work in Auburn, but have a weekend house on Lake Martin in the Indian Shores area.  Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Good news for ya…..Spectrum uses Verizon towers and as far as I know their software system also.  I switched from Verizon to Spectrum phones a couple of years ago and I have noticed NO change in tower service or connections….and I save about $60/mo for 2 phones.  Do it.  You’ll be happy.  Plus, you can set phone to use Spectrum wi-fi anywhere it’s available, which is free.

I have Verizon and I have resisted changing to Spectrum.  Right now they offer a good deal.  But my expereince with SPECTRUM is that at some point they will raise their rates and you will be paying just as much or more.  I guess you could say I don't trust Spectrum - I don't trust Verizon especially either, but at least we are past the come-on good deals with Verizon.  Just my opinion.

Agree with regard to Spectrum....they tout "no contract", but what folks don't realize is that a contract is a two way deal and they have the freedom to raise rates since they are not contractually bound to what they promise when a subscriber signs up with them.

Let’s see, I’ve saved $60/mo for two years already……that’s $1,440 in my pocket w/o contract or any strings.  Works for me!!

But from what I understand, in order to switch to Spectrum you also have to have Spectrum Internet. But what if your home does not have access to Spectrum, can you still switch over from Verizon wiht Spectrum internet?
