gast Friday at the new station @ 50/centerpoint rd was $4.61/gallon; yesterday it was $4.29; please explain--who is monitoring these prices ? taxes add $.49 cents to each gallon in ALA--can we say 'moratorium ' ???

AND why all of a sudden so many pop up banner ads on this site at the bottom ?

There are no rules about what a station can charge for gas, and so it relies on competition to keep the prices in line - figuring that people won't go where it is more expensive.  As far as the big jump, they must figure that since the season has started, they will just see how much the tourists will pay.

As far as the banners go, I assume this is something to do with the platform.

Don't have an answer to either but best solution for pop up ads is witch to Duck Duck go as search engine
