Any suggestions for someone that can repair the lights on one of my boat trailers. The right side is out completely.

By "completely" I assume you mean running light and stop/turn/hazard light. First, if you haven't already, confirm that your other trailer(s) are fully functional If not, it might be a blown fuse in your tow vehicle. If it isnt the tow vehicle, more than likely it is either separated wires (brown for running lights, and yellow for left turn signal, green for right turn) or a failed ground. Assuming the light uses a single bulb for running lights and stop/turn/hazard, it is unlikely that both the running light element and the stop/turn/hazard element in that bulb would fail simultaneously (thus maybe a ground fault).
Just about any marine or auto repair shop should be able to quickly diagnose and repair your trailer lights (unless like Kowaliga marina they want three weeks just to get to it....).

Thanks for the reply. I know its not a fuse on the tow vehicle as I had the problem with my old truck and the new one I am using now. I'll try a auto repair place and see if they can figure it out. I'll sweeten the deal for them as I need a couple of new tires and want to get the bearings greased.

Try S and S Tires in Dadeville or Snappy lube either one. They are close and either can handle it. Snappy sells tires cheaper than dirt.

Counting the travel trailer I have six to keep up with and it seems I am perpetually repairing at least one of them. Biggest cause is self-inflicted by backing into something and bashing the whole light, or at a minimum breaking the lens. Also, the travel trailer and tow vehicle have some sort of incompatibility that results in the left turn signal fuse blowing.

Check the flasher and make sure you have a heavey duty one in place. Took me a while to cipher that one out once, but also if the truck has a towing package it should have heavy duty flashers already.

Have tow package on the tow vehicle and have pulled all kinds of trailers with it. May be in the trailer wiring since that is the only vehicle I use to pull that one. I have removed the lens on the left rear light but visually saw nothing out of sorts. May hook the trailer to another vehicle and activate all the different lighting options to see if it blows a fuse there as well.

S&S put two tires on the trailer for me and serviced the bearings. I'll give them a call and see if they can fix the lights as well. Thanks!

Be sure to let us know what they find. I may need to add it to my bag of tricks.

It could be simply a burned out bulb since the other light is working. Just take off the lens cover and pull the bulb. Check it for a burned out filament.

Re-read MM's post, specifically "The right side is out completely." That would mean if there were two bulbs they both would have to be out. Unlikely unless there was some outside influence.

Just to clarify, I have the brake and turn signal light and three running lights. All are out and have been for a while. Needed to be more clear as it is definitely not a bulb issue. And all the lights on the left side work. And it has been that way with my former and current truck so its not the source. Maybe a bad connector plug.

Reread...good point.....I had same and it was the fixture. Replaced both of them. A simple test light with a ground clip is the tool that usually locates the issue. With a cheap light you can take off a wing nut and see it there is power to the wire. S and S should be able to fix itt.
Years ago, I had an older trailer and I tried everything. I called a shop and the owner said, before you bring it in, take a drill and attach a wire brush. Then, clean the inside of the trailer coupler which goes over the ball. It solved the problem...a bad ground from rust.

I think I can assume its not a bad ground since the lights on one side work and the ones on the other do not, correct? Seems like a bad ground would kill all the lights. It may be the plug is bad. I know its not the adapter because all the lights work on my pontoon boat trailer. I'll call S&S and see if they can fix it along with the two new tires and axle service. Thanks for the ideas.

You mentioned in another post this morning that you have running lights, I assume along the sides. If they are out on the right as well then it prolly isn't a ground. If only the rear red-lens stop/turn/running light fixture, that fixture might have a ground problem. Sounds like the right side brown and green wires might be "open" somewhere between the connector and the lights.
