Would appreciate recommendations on installers in the Lake Martin area. Lowes wants about $6.50 to $7.00 per square yard. If they install, free pad. But not sure just how "free" the pad is. Is that price competitive?

I get carpet laid in vacant space for $1.50 to $2.00/ yard. Pad runs
$.80 for el-cheapo to $2.00 for some pretty decent stuff.

I would hope to pay maybe $2.50-$3.00 plus pad here so I'd say $7.00 is a mite high. Now if they are going to be in the furniture moving biz I'd tack on another $1.00. But! I am ignorant of labor rates here.

Viva Los Amigos!!!

I would contact Holman Flooring out of Alex City before making any decision.

Email me. I have 20 years experience installing rug. I live at the lake in the summer and in Atlanta in the winter. I can probably help.

We recently had some carpet replaced and used Bi-City Decor in Opelika. Their ph is (334)749-3374. They did a very professional job, nice folks. They also have a huge selection. If you go there talk to Stephen; he was very helpful.

As far as pricing, we paid $5.49 per sq. yd. for the (labor) installation of a berber carpet in 3 bedrooms. We used a very good pad and it was priced at $3.33 per sq. yd.

Is their name really Bi-City? :-)

Yes, it really is Bi-City Decor. In this case, it refers to the Auburn/Opelika area. They've been around a long time and I feel sure this name was chosen before the current "definition" was common place.
