had a great lake trip this past 5 days.... Found out the following:

Eagles nest near the Rock, is empty, or Eagles don't mind squirrels running through it. Checked on it 3 times. No life but a squirrel, are we sure this is/was an eagle not a buzzard?

Boomer T's BBQ at Real Island is pretty good for what your getting out of a trailer for $3.00 a small sandwich. Onion rings were frozen - yet, anything fried is good for me. Grease needed a little changing. Will support these kids, it's nice to have something other than Sinclairs on our side of the lake to grab a snack.

Sears Lawn tractors make great bushhogs...LOL, oh and...
Some small engine repair place 3 miles past Alexander City gives pretty good service.

The piggly wiggly in Alexander City is one of the nicest pigs i've been to in quite a while.

Spell Check is still alive on this forum.

The Russel Factory outlet store will give you up to a 40% discount if you buy a WHOLE lot. 25 pocket T's got me a discount. Color selection could have been better.

Progress on the new 280 is extremely slow.

Discount Cigarette Store off 280 at dadeville sells a carton of Carlton's for $40.00, I'm still trying to understand 'discount'.

Kowliaga boat service department still ranks below 1 on a scale of 1-10. I'm not sure how i rate it below one, but I can.

People who do over 10 circles with a wave runner just shouldn't be allowed on our lake.

We need more water patrol on our side of the lake. Never over here, never ever. Kowliaga area and west.

Lightning Storm was great Saturday night. Did it end the Concert's early? Did Los Lonely Boys get to play?

Humidity didn't mess my hair up this weekend, it was the wind from the many boat rides.

Jim will never ever get it. LOL

I'm still pretty upset over the empty eagles nest. If anyone knows of another that might have life in it, I'd love to get some photo's, email me at maplesd@yahoo.com. I'll keep it secret. Will post whatever pictures of the nest I did get soon.

Couple of things....yes it's an eagle's nest. There was at least one baby raised there this spring. I never see much activity there this time of year. I don't know if they move on after the little one is raised or if they stay year round. Have you tried looking late in the evening?

Second, you are fortunate to live in an area that is assigned 2 officers. Saying that we are "never, ever" in your area is just not true. However we may not be there the times you are looking...kind of like the eagles at the nest LOL.

FYI...Memorial Day weekend there was one accident that I know about. There were about 50 tickets written, 100 warnings, and 5 BUIs. These are ballpark numbers...I don't recall the specific totals.

Also if you have a question regarding boat license, registration, equipment, etc. check out the new DCNR website at www.outdooralabama.com. It's better/more informative than the old website.

good to see your still around, and I'm sure your right, the MP do visit our area, i'm not here often enough to judge. And honestly, I only think about the need when I'm seeing something really stupid happening.

Thanks for the website you posted, it's a nice one. I went back over the law regarding PWC towing and found I was wrong. Not owning one of these I didn't take them to mind much. I thought an observer was required, wrong. Just two mirrors mounted to the body.

I read back through wondering if there was a law regarding speed when going under a bridge....couldn't find anything. Is it ok to go wide open under a bridge?

Thanks for the eagle update, and the article on the website you posted. I did not check the nest in the evening. Will do next time I'm on the water.

And one more question..... one of my boats is designed to go foward to reverse at any speed (jet of course) this allows my boat to be kind fun on a good day. If i'm traveling 60 and slam into reverse make a big splash or swamp my boat temporarily spin around would you give me a ticket? Did i break a law? This of course is assuming no boats are near me .

Thanks for being on the water and watching out for us!
