I know that the gov owns scrushy's place now but I was curious about the other huge italian-villa-style home in the cove behind scrushy's place

I think his name Zettler. Some big wheel from Vulcan engineering.

Scrushy still owns Scrushy's place. To date he has only been charged not convicted.

He likely has homestead protection on it anyway---probably wont lose it even if convicted.

Hey pford - I do believe they are referring to the place beyond and behind Scrushy's (or the former Scrushy place). I have heard that it cost between $30 to $34 mil and it makes the former Scrushy place look much smaller. You are correct about being charged as opposed to convicted, and I believe it is in excess of 80 charges. I also understand that both the Scrushy mansions on Ono Island (Perdido Bay, Gulf Shores/Orange Beach) are under lock & key by the Feds. He (Scrushy) may also have other properties unavailabe to his use, but maybe his key chain still holds the keys to his Birmingham main lodging.

Don't confuse relatively benign bankruptcy law with the felony of federal securities fraud! I believe these guys play for keeps! :-)

F1 is correct, if any of his properties were acquired with ill gotten gains then they are toast. I do believe he still has all of his porperty including Orange Beach. He just lost a motion to allow travel to Orange Beach for family time. I believe his assetts are frozen not taken---yet. First indication will be the tacky cardboard sign the Fed's post around a property telling everyone to stay away.

I think that they should just give it to me. You will all be invited to come over and stay any time you wish.
