Lately we've noticed ALOT of people fishing with free floating bottlles and other home made floats. In one case last week an entire slough was just about full ( near DARE park). There must have been 150 floatnig bottles in the slough. Is this legal?

My husband & I were out very early about two Saturdays ago...we went down into our ski cove and their were two boats picking up those bottles their were so many we could not even ski there. Hundreds! Yeah it legal?

Their, there, they're. How can you tell what someone is doing and then relate it to someone else when you don't know the words to use. Yes it's legal. You don't own ski sloughs. The lake belongs to everyone. It's just first come first serve. It is plain that what flows from the brain through the mouth also goes through the finger tips.

except on State owned and operated lakes.

Give it a try! You'll be hooked!

You are right. I have passed this technique on to several people and they had a great time with " their " kids. The only thing that might come into question is the amount of floats being fished. You would have to ask the " game warden ".

Well excuse me sorry to bother you with my type-o!!!!! I realize the lake belongs to everyone...but have you ever heard of being considerate to others....don't take up the whole lake with trashy fishing devices! Not only is it a inconvenience to others it looks bad.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Considerate? I think you said they were already there and were taking the floats up. Trashy fishing devices? How about your trashy looking ski's. You were a inconvience to them but they were considerate enough to try and give you back " your " slough by taking up the floats. " Typo's"? Once is a typo but only if you rearange letters. But you did it twice and used the wrong word. Please forgive those old trashy fishermen.

Oh how could I be a inconvenience to them...I thought the lake belonged to everyone. I don't think my ski's are trashy...but a empty plastic coke bottle spray painted orange...is that not trash...literally??? And actually I went to ski but could not then the fisherman showed up to pick up the mess. So it all worked out...just wanted to see if it was legal...sorry to offend you!

As others noted....it's legal....also there's not a limit on the number of floats (jugs) used. FYI...you can fish using this method w/o a license IF you are in your home county.
