Was wonderful!!! Had a blast out on the water, not too much traffic so it was nice. It got hot if you stopped the boat, but as long as we were moving it was great. We had a lot of speed boats and loud boats pass us, and I couldn't help but think.. "Hey I wonder if those are some guys from the board"!

Well, none of them was me! I had to work saturday, and went to lake jordan on sunday for a while. Looking foreward to the poker run saturday on Martin though.

I agree Auburn Girl....it was a super weekend on the lake. The marina and restaurant workers were not happy with the heat/lack of business but we sure enjoyed it.
Anyone else get eaten by the biting flies? We were covered late afternoon in the Blue Creek area.

The flies were terrible! I've never been bitten by a housefly, so this weekend was a first.

It`s called a horse fly, they only bite horses and bad smelling Auburn fans. They are breed by UGA, in Experment,Ga. down by Griffin GA.

Horseflies are (and always have been) a part of summers at the lake. We also deal with them by the pool across the creek into Ga. They only bite beautiful, sweet, submissive women and testosterone flooded men. Yes, they were bred in Ga because those are the only types of humanoids found over here. You won't find them in Mississippi...:)
Here's a true tip.....let them land on you and begin to bite and you can easily slap them dead. It's pretty cool to catch them inside your cabin and pull their heads off and let them fly around banging into everything. Their pretty dumb as far as flies go. If they're eating, they're easy pickin's.
Isn't summer the best? Have the Mayflies swarmed yet?

UGA breeding flies. Gotta breed something dumb enough to keep them company.

Hmm the horseflies I see here in Bham are bigger than the flies I saw at the lake. And those didn't leave a big welp on my leg like the ones up here....in deed a new GA breed!

The horse flies I have encountered in the past were much larger than these. The flies this weekend looked like regular house flies,,,,but with teeth that did not leave much of a mark.
Maybe they were just biting Seminoles that have ventured to far from home. ;>)
