Sung to "White Christmas"

I'm dreaming, of a Lake Martin Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where there aren't any Yankees,
All crowding the water,
And boats, that used to go real slow. (LOL)

I'm dreaming of a Lake Martin Christmas,
With every post on these threads I write.
May your fishing, beering, boating be bright,
And your Lake Martin Christmasses, for you, be right.

A VERY MERRY LAKE MARTIN CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Sometimes, I am almost ashamed to admit I am a Southerner after reading the less than intelligent broad brush remarks made by a few supposedly educated people regarding their fellow Americans.

I also feel badly about attacking others during this Season of Love and Goodwill toward all others in my post. It does grate at me to read the resentment toward "YANKEES". I have served this Proud Nation and even in combat with soldiers that are from the Northern sector of this Nation. They are and some were very proud, brave and good people. I lost two young men over 30 years ago from my platoon in Viet Nam. One was from Indiana and the other Wisconsin. Two of the finest young men I have ever known.

Please stop the "yankee" bashing since it offends me for one.

Feb, I interpreted that as "tongue-in-cheek" from jawjagal since others on this forum have unashamedly bashed Northerners. I doubt seriously that she harbors animosity toward anyone based upon their geographical
roots.

Feb, you need a band-aid on that one. Merry Christmas. Your posts are always good, informative and in perspective. I enjoy them.

I am originally from Thomasville,Al and have lived in N.C. for the past 24 years. My daughter recently married a wonderful young man from NY. His family did not seem to be offended when I said I looked forward to having half-yankee grandchildren. My point is lightened up Jim. Most of us know Yankees that we like. We also know Yankees that move south and act superior for no apparent reason. Don't move south and tell us how you did it .. "up north".
