A big thanks to those of you who responded with some maturity. My family has been on the lake since 1955. We are NOT criminals. My questions were a legitimate request for some basic information about NUMBERS of people on the lake, not where they live or who they are.
In 2003 I foolishly thought I would post something I'd heard to see if it was a rumor. This time I foolishly thought you fellow residents might be of some help with market research for an honest man's business.
I was wrong.

PS to Feb --Watching the wind's affect on the lake from my point is breathtaking-- it was only better in the early days when there weren't quite so many folks with their big loud boats making big waves with no regard to others property.

Windview, contact the Chamber in Dadeville and Alexander City. I think you should understand the reluctance of some to provide you with the information that you are requesting. If you were a regular, I believe we would be more forthcoming. Good luck with your business
plans.

Sorry, wind. It was suspect. Any newbie who hasn't shared some of themselves on this board and then asks a loaded question ( in our minds) would have to understand our reluctance.

Hope to see you around more on this board for us to get to know you better. I think you will then find we are a good group.

Windview, I sincerely apologize for my analysis of the situation. I was reluctant to post what I did but was concerned about the consequences
if my hunch had been correct......then we just kinda went off on a tear for the rest of the thread. Once again, please accept my humble apology and we are glad to have you on the forum and hope to hear more from
you.

say what your business was about or what the intrest was. I told you what I thought, but maybe I am too trusting,.... who knows. I'll try to be more careful next time,....like everyone else.

If you don't give a little more info, this bunch will string you up.
(they'll eventually let you go,....you'll be purple from hanging upside down for so long,...but they will let you go sooner or later)

I don't think we should be so hard on ourselves. We were being proactively protective. Sorry, wind. But be GLAD we were suspicious.

This sounds like something from RAY NAIGEN (N.O. Mayer)

That is what stands out in my mind. That is what was posted, and what I read. Powerboat owners study, and spend more on safety equipment than any other group of boaters in my opinion. You want find orange lifevest still in plastic bags stowed away at least. And our fire ext. are charged. lmao. kidding yall.
