Some folks from Nashville came by looking for an old cemetary that they had been to once before by boat that had some of their ancesters buried there, the Gambles. Does anyone know of such a cemetary? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Lakeman, Not sure this link will help but worth a try. Often, Geanology groups have list of names on various head stones for older cemetaries.

More than likely that was the cemetary that had been at Sunset Pointe. It was relocated when all of the new condominium construction began. I can't say for sure where it was relocated....

...Madwind Creek and is only accessable by water. It has few marker left on it, but is VERY close to being eroded completely. It has been shored up with riprap but is only a fraction of what it used to be. It is actually one slough over from the actuall creek bed. I will be happy to show anyone where it is at if they contact me.

Wasn't that the indian burial grounds that they had to move? One of the workers took me on a tour and mentioned it.

I knew about the island cemetary but this one is suppose to be accessible by water and have and open field near it. Thanks for the info.

There is a church and cemetary on the far western shore directly west of the entrance of sandy creek.
