Well, I must admit, that I am a very new Lake Property Owner, but a long time lake visitor. My string of wonderful investment decisions seems to be continuing as I pick the summer of the "great drought" to invest in a lake villa that cost me more than my house did. I am sorry that I have brought this upon everyone on the lake. I seem to have the ability to put the breaks on any raging market. I should have warned this message board prior to putting a contract on our place.

If history repeats itself, it will recover, slowly but surely. <---- the glass 1/2 full part of this post.

Bob, I am braced for your onslaught.

HOWEVER, there is nothing like sitting on my own porch sipping a cup of coffee in the morning when the lake is calm and there is a nice little breeze. Low water and slow real estate market be damned, I love it here! If you see me waving like Forest Gump, wave back, I am just excited to be here or better yet stop by and have some coffee with me in the morning or a cool adult beverage in the evening.

The current drought is only because my builder need nice weather to build my place.

Things will be OK next year.

Well said! We all wish the water was higher - but it's still the lake and we're all glad to be here!

F1, I am so glad that you brought that to my attention. Since global warming very well could be the cause of the change in power in the white house which I am scared to death of, my karma certainly could be working overtime to warm everyone up. Maybe I should convince my karma that I hate rain and love the thought of Hilary in the white house to get things going in the right direction. ;-)

I like your spirit, augob!! We're glad you're here and enjoying it--it's people like you that make Lake Martin such a great community.

Congrats Augobbler and don't look for an "onslaught" by me. It really only losers like LTL that I waste anytime on, I love weekenders!

Now the truth is you are going to see something none of us has ever seen here at that is winter pool in the summer. You will have lots of "peace" this summer as you will have the lake to yourself in a few weeks. If you go boating be extremely careful, its already dangerous and gets worse each day...I think I am going to skip the coffee and go straight to the adult beverage today...might as well...
