So last week John mentioned that Gov Riley had won his lawsuit and you can read that the Corp had agreed to increase water flow down stream by bla bla bla.......
So in reality what does this mean for us? If this will actually benefit some or all of the chain of lakes (especially Logan Martin) at what point will the increases show? I am not one to get my hopes up especially when the Government has their hands on it but some of you who have been here and seen these situations happen before, does it really benefit us or is it just another news story and we still are limited to where we can go and how much fun we can have.
Also who is ultimatley responsible for our fun,
Alabama Power - Because they control the water flow?
Army Corp of Engineers - Because they are supposed to be in charge of the lake levels?
or the Govenment - Because Gov Riley makes news that he is suing to get the water - Makes news that he won and they are releasing the water but have not actually seen any benefits from it (yet) - almost like an election year "see what I did".
Sorry for the long Blog - My back hurts because I had too much fun on the lake this weekend and I am not going to be able to go next weekend because of work and I am grouchy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,haha..

HOpefully I will be able to take your place on the lake this weekend. Having just spent the last 7 days working along the banks of the Tennesse river, watching the pontoons float by and the occasional skier, heck even seeing the marine Police got my river rat blood pumping. Being pulled over by the Mrn Police is still better than just watching from the bank.
Glad some more of you guys got together, sounds like the other forums are full of "drama", hope ours stays peacfull , informational and thought provoking from time to time. David

Yea I hate to say it but a bad day at the lake is better than a good day at home/work.
It was nice meeting John and his family and the guys with the go fast boats was really cool to see. I hope they get to come back soon. I had a chance to hang out with them down by the cliffs but the kids wanted to jump off and we got down there and girl that was with my daughter caved to peer pressure and it took an hour for her to jump. situation was funny but I wanted to talk with those guys.
I will catch up with you in a couple of weeks, I can't believe it's almost August.

I think that given we are heading into the "dryer" months as tradition has been, we'll only see the lake possibly hold onto the current level of hovering around 461 longer than would have been the case.
I seriously doubt we'll see it come up much if any, but merely "hang on" a little longer.

Sorry gang... I didn't mean to infer that nobody was having fun. We enjoy the lake every weekend - my only gripe is that I can't park my boat at my own pier. When I posted the "prayers answered" article, it was in support of a partial solution for the entire watershed - not just Logan Martin. I don't think we'll see much higher water here, but hopefully it won't be drawn down any farther. Catch you guys on the water soon.
