Our paper in Auburn has lots of information about bake sells, but nothing about the biblical drought affecting our state and Lake Martin. I have over 300 yards of water off my lot at full pool, but if it goes down about three more feet, I will be able to walk across Blue Creek. I could never have imagined I would not even be able to launch my jon boat from my lot!

Also, we have only about another month and a half during tropical storm season. Maybe Governor Riley needs to call for another day of state-wide prayer.

That is absurd - this is just some more scare tactics to ensure that people are postively surprised no matter what the outcome. There no chance in hel* that the lake will drop another 10 feet in the next three weeks. To even write that is irresponsible, and just assumes that virtually everyone living in this state is without any intellect whatsoever.

Unfortunately the Corps is going to float that dredge with someone's water. Looks like it's Lake Martin's.

For just such times. How many milions of dollars would be wated if they quit in the middle of the dredge? Why dont you offer to reimberse the state for that money if they stop the dredge? After all 9.3 million is pocket change to you.

"The most recent data puts the lake at 478.84 feet, about a foot below the normal winter level of 480 and another 10 feet below full pool. If dry weather continues as expected, the lake level could drop 10 more feet by mid-October, Alabama Power Co. officials said, leaving many marinas and most public boat ramps high and dry"

How is printing something said by APCO officials absurd and irresponsible? The reporter didn't just make it up. What makes yo so sure it won't happen?

This whole water business is depressing me.

Lake Lanier is so low there is discussion about the Atlanta metropolitan area having no water at all if there is no precipitation in the near future. It would be a Katrina sized disaster. The unimaginable is becoming imaginable.

1. The dredging contract was for less than $1 Mil, I believe.

2. Didn't cost the state a dime. Feds pay for Corps of Engineer work--thought even you would know that.

3. $9.3 Mil is a minute investment to make by industry today. Three houses in the Ridge cost more than that --and they employ more people.

Three houses cost more than a manufacturing plant, so those folks are more important than the ones downstream who are wage slaves.

And yes, I know the corps are paid by the FEDS, I was in a hurry and mispoke, but the point remains, you and the three guys building those houses in the ridge can reimburse the feds for the dredging instead of the state.

how is it when you lie you "misspoke" but we're always lying. Think about it.

Ignorance - the lack of knowledge.

Stupidity - the inability to recognize the lack of knowledge.

I mispoke as to which governtment agency you could reimburse. YOU LIED ABOUT THE ENTIRE PREMISE OF YOUR ORGANIZATION. Claiming to represent ALL stakeholders while one of your officers is working to prevent some of these stakeholders from using the lake.

I would think even with your arrogance and ignorance you could tell the difference, but obviously NOT.
