What happened to that 10 feet that was going to leave us - does not seem like the present rate supports it. Never fear, the reporter will only be off by 8-9 feet - wow, not that is an accurate estimate I guess. Again, a ridiculous statement, and the next two weeks will prove so.
|
So if you think the reporter just made it up talk with their editor. ALL I said was that she quoted an APCO official. NOT that it was going to happen. YOU seem to think she lied. If that is the case she should be fired.
Take it up with the paper, not me. I still say she quoted correctly, but frankly don't care enough to follow up on it.

My point is that SOMEONE is purposely misrepresenting - if it is APCO, so be it. However, any one with common sense would have known otherwise. Would you print that the world was ending tomorrow if APCO said so, of course not, because people should have the sense enough to know better - that is my only point. The reporter has instant credibility also in this sheep filled country we live in.

Right now the lake I believe is projected to go down around 2 feet in the next 2 weeks from what i have heard. Then APCo is projecting the lake level will be around 474 by mid December.
Without APCo telling the Corps they were going to reduce the downstream flow out of Martin this past Wed I would have to say the 10 feet could in fact had been a reality as I had heard prior to this move by APCo the lake level was projected to go down to 464 or so.
Had several folks go over the dam today and they said water was freely flowing downstream.

came across the river this morning {tallapoosa} and it was running higher than I have seen it in awhile. I hope Alex City has that barge ready.

Yes someone IS misrepresenting wha is happening on the lake and that is the HOBO. Claiming to represent ALL stakeholders while their board member joins a lawsuit to keep some off Lake Martin. NOT THER IS A STORY FOR YOU

Now that is just ducking the issue - i though you prided yourself on these intellectual retorts???
Also, without passing judgement on your board member(as I have no idea what you are speaking about), how can you judge the legitimacy of a group based upon the actions of one of its members???

Came across again at 4:30pm and it was running strong.

It is simple. The secratary of the HOBO's husband is one of the 'property owners' that joined APCO in the suit to uphold the 'big boat ban'. It is public record and has been denid and/or dismissed by ohter HOBO's on the forum, but it has been confirmed by CAT BOAT who was one of two primary plaintiffs in the suit.
So there you have it. Lake Martin HOBO's claim to represent 'all stakeholders' while their board members sue to keep some stakeholders off the lake. And just a few days ago OSMS told CAT he should take his boat 'to the gulf where it belongs". Just so happens he was referring to his 16ft Donzi, by why let facts get in the way. This conversation occured as OSMS was wanting more water withheld from downstream flow. It here, just read back a few days.
