We've never spent the weekend of a race at the lake and i was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. Maybe we timed everything right, but I didn't enounter any traffic or crowds around town all weekend.

Got to canoe around the cove some, but no boat.

Yea there were like no boats out at all.

took the boat up past Stemley bridge with my brother and his 2 friends from PA that had never been to a race.

Then Saturday I got to go ride around with Brian Vickers and Robby Gordon and got to see Robby Wakeboard. They were really down to earth guys and fun to hang out with.

We might have seen 4-5 boats the whole weekend.

It was a great weekend! Got lots of skiing in. Tons of bass boats but not many others. (I did see the wakeboarders.) Got outta Dodge before the race traffic ramped up. Back in Bham by about 5p. I'm hoping the water level doesn't get much lower 'cause school's out on Monday and it'll be a 3 day weekend.

I left. Before we were full timers, I hooked up with a friend of a former client to rent my house for race weekends. It's kind of a hassle now that we are living there full time but I don't expect to be a full timer for much longer. We stayed with some friends in Shelby county. But I hear it was a great weekend. I got home early yesterday and even went for a swim. The water is still very warm.

When we first bought our house we started hanging with a neighbor and he always bragged that drivers would come hang before and after the race. Initially I called BS and was not in town the Fall race last year.

This year at the Spring race Saturday we go down to his house and there sits Robby G just hanging out. He said that Brian V had been there but left because he did not qualify.

Same thing last weekend. My wife and friends went to the race and I could not go so that afternoon went by his house and Brian V was watching the truck race. After the truck race is over Robby G and girlfriend show up and about 9 of us hop in his boat and wake for a little while then just watch the sunset.

Both very nice guys and very down to earth.

What part of the lake is this? Were they hanging at your neighbors house?

Robby G. seems like a pretty cool fellow to hang with, I can't stand watching him drive though. Like waiting for a train wreck to happen.
