It will be difficult to get excited until this wrestling match between billybob Perdue and I-imposed-more-restrictions-than-you-did Riley is resolved. Does anyone else feel a little silly having the Gov argue that we had restrictions when in fact we had none and still have none right here at the lake where we can see the seriousness of the situation?

Yes I do agree.....and to answer the first post...rain like crazy in Alex City last night. But only for about 30 min.

Prbably not enough to help the situation

As usual, the rain started to break up as it moved past Birmingham. There seems to be a giant umbrella over the northern Lake Martin/Tallapoosa River basin. Looks like less than a half inch over the last 24 hours in most areas north of Alex City. But it isn't over yet, there is another promising looking band approaching.

We had about 1" in the rain gauge this morning, the grass and trees are happy.

Hopefully the precipitation will hold down fires and keep some of the plants alive. The mess in Southern California really shows you things could be worse.

1.5 inches in this part of Hoover. Perfect, slow steady drizzle.

We have just a tad of 3" at our place in Stillwaters.
