I am near the old boy scout camp, and we had 2 boats float up to our dock after the heavy rains. We called them in, but they have not been picked up, and we have not been contacted. Is there any other procedure regarding this?? Do we need to get them "towed" or what? I am Curious and any help is appreciated

Call the marine police with the hull number or registration number. They will notify the owners...

or it could be derelict. Either way you probably can't keep it.

Last year I had a seadoo float up. I called the MP and they gave me the name and adress of the registered owner. I called him and he claimed to not own ANY watercraft and was not even interested in knowing where the one registered to him was. I called the MP back and passed the info on to them and we both rechecked the numbers and it was most definately registered to the guy I spoke too.

Just one of things that make you go Hmmmm. The Seadoo dissapeared later that day though.

Definitely do whatever is necessary to find the owner. Many thanks to the neighbor who did that with the jonboat that one of my brothers left too far down the bank the last time they used it.
