place to go. The water is leaving again. I will be looking for a place at Lay Lake over the next few months. Lay is down 6inches. I have had enough. I used my pontoon 2 hours last year. It is not right for AP to keep one lake dry and others full.

Honestly I am not a fan of Logan Martin myself.
No stumps to speak of, very few good weed beds and way too many udden udden jet skis. and you cant tell from day to day if the boat will float.

My parents have a place there and their spot is great for my grandkids to swim and play in the water. Terrific neighbors closeby also are the only reasons I continue to keep their place up and go there.

Personally I would prefer a place more serene that Logan.

But most all lakes are nowdays overrun by noise making udden uddens so my choices are lmiited. Will make the best of it and continue to keep the place up for my grands and wife

I am not sure what to say..........

I can find a problem with everything I do day in or day out. whether its someone that works for me or too many seadoos or boats to stop me from boarding. Or gas or politicians or lack there of.

I look at those problem and feel like things can always be much worse, but I am thankful that I have a place for my children and hopefully I will be around to see my Grandchildren play here too.

I hope that I am not one of the budin budins ruining your day.

I think we had around 15 hours on ours last year . The 2 previous years we had 50 or more hours per year . With out of state family coming in the last of april I had hope the lake would fill early but it doesent look good.

I looked at Lay Lake when I was looking for a place. I was around when Lay was very dirty and had a lot of industrial pollution. Did a lot of growing up in the Cedar Creek area and loved every minute of it. I wasn't worried about nor turned off by Lay Lake's past. I just liked Logan Martin better.

I found a place on the Shelby county side that was 2 log houses, 2 bedrooms each. Had a couple of out buildings, a nice gently sloping lot with mature trees. 125k. I never looked at it with my own eyes but the pics looked great. I spent more than that for a very steep lot with a decent house on Logan Martin and I think I made the right choice. Not becuase Lay isn't nice. But like everything else in real estate. Location, location, location.

Yeah, it's loud and busy some weekends with the Sea Doos. Forget sleeping late on the weekends all year. The bass boats wake you up. But ya know what? It's all just another #*%#ty day in paradise. I wouldn't trade for anything. I'd rather complain about the lack of water than have to drive farther to get to the lake. If I want to do something, I'm 45 minutes or less from Bham or I can go the other way to Anniston. Not to mention Talladega or Childersburg.

I love Logan Martin and Lay. But I'll stay where I am.

Peace,
<><
TC

Have no fear the water will be here mid April....... or I will buy you lunch or dinner at your choice anywhere on or near the water........

come on guys we have got to shake off the winter blues and complain about more important things like the gas prices and presidential election..........

I think I will wait until mid summer to complain abour gas prices , it might make them look good right now.

This morning they said Hawaii was already $4.40per

cheaper gas is still a ways away and like everything else it will get worse before it get better........

Yep , I seen that also . I remember a couple of years ago , the first summer in our new boat gas hit 3 dollars a gallon . It didnt bother me as much then as it does now, I wasent about to leave that new boat tied to the dock all summer , so we paid the price and kept riding. I expect I will do the same this year if we have enough water to float it.

Were you somehow tricked into buying on Logan Martin? Anyone who's been in the area for any time knows that LM rises and falls way more than Lay or Mitchell. It's a designated reservoir and behaves as such. Look at all those folks that pay many times as much for property on Martin and/or Smith and it less accessible at times than Logan Martin. They know this going in but choose to go there.

Logan Martin is what it is, very convenient to Birmingham, great town (Pell City) with all amenities within just a few minutes, relatively flat lots, etc.... If Logan Martin stayed full all of the time and was more "scenic" as some have suggested they wish it were, it'd be too expensive for me to be there and we'd be overrun with Atlanta natives willing to spend way more than we are. Pro's and cons with everything and as much as I'd love to say APCO stinks and we're being treated unfairly, we're not. I've got waaaaaaay more things to complain and worry about than my lake house not having enough water.

Chris
