My family and I have been visiting Lake Martin for the last 3 years. We love it and will be back this July. Just reading the locals loving posts about each other and the many lake issues, has me itching to arrive, settle in, and get my boat on the water. I would love to see all of you people meet at the Rock or Chucks for a face to face discussion; how entertaining would that be for the visitors. I wouldn't miss it!!! Thanks for keeping me entertained, while I continue to deal with big city life til July.
BTW, I have a 19ft Checkmate bowrider. Will I be legal?

Legal? Well you would be now, but July is a long time away…. That out of the way – welcome back, Chuck’s is in my phone as a speed dial, and on our way from Sandy Creek, we will stop around The Ridge to call in our order for a “Chimney Rock” (supreme type), cover it in towels and head to The Rock to enjoy it. Although for the most part I do not like Rap or Country music, we all seem to have a happy little community there. I hope that the traditions will continue, that place is one where those of us in $19,000 boats could mingle with those in $600,000 boats and never feel out of place

It is a Pulsare 1850 with a Merc 175. White with red flames, and sometimes, when it's really really hot, a red bimini top.

Nice, a friend of mine used to have a red and black Checkmate I/O bow rider. Anyways we had a lot of fun in that boat and then he sold it. I was wondering if maybe yours was that boat. Hope you have a good summer out there.

I thought about I/O Donzi 19, but I decided on outboard. The Checkmate hull is light, 1200 lbs, with the Merc 175 she really gets up and goes if needed. With an outboard, you can adjust the height of the motor (jack plate) and trim of the engine to get the hull out of the water. But, I also have the bimini top and a ski pylon, which allows me to comfortably pull my kids (and self) all day for tons of boating fun. Lake Martin is a paradise, is spite of what anyone says. One day we will own a place, till then we rent a new one each year. When the time comes to buy, we will have expierience with many different locations.
