I wouldn't worry about it too much. Although this article has obvious math problems, there are many laws just like it all around us. Laws for motor vehicles such as speed limits & turn signals, lights ON when raining, and so forth. These laws are there and can be used in cases of severe abuse to reign in unruly boaters. It is a step in the right direction.

There is a public health warning that says no one should swim in any Alabama impoundment??????? Someone please fill me in, as I swim every weekend on the lake...

I'm not sure the author of this article did his homework. I'm willing to bet that the "no swimming" thing is completely fabricated. Anyone who knows more about this care to comment?

Mike Bolton is an outdoor writer who only gives the hunter's and fisherman's veiwpoint. Fisherman's hardship? If you are fishing you have no hardships.

This was one of the dumbest analogies in the whole article. Like so many on the lake, this attitude like so many demonstrated on Lake Martin and this board completely ignores the responsibility of boaters w/r/t their wake. Not to mention the fact that the genius blasting in and out of my slough are usually 20-30' from my pier and kids, regardless of the probably 250'+ width of the slough. Yeah, it's so they can turn around on plane and beat the crap out of both sides of the area, which just further illustrates what fools they are.

Mike Bolton appears to be a narrow-minded math impaired nut in this article. I did like how he switched back and forth between feet and yards, just to confuse things. Perhaps he should stay in his tree stand and out of the paper. And hopefully off the water.

Looks like the majority of Elkahatchee Creek will now be a no wake zone, wonder how the folks at the very back like this idea??
