I spotted a red Monarch Canoe at Farrows Island today. My first thought was to the red canoe that was reported lost here a couple of weeks ago. Farrows Island is the island right across from DARE Park. It is on the Big Water side up in a small slough. It is actually tied to a fallen tree, but it is nearly completely filled with water and is barely above the water line. Good luck!! I hope canoe and owner are soon reunited.

This might belong to Donny Fuller of Bay Pine Island Road. They have a red canoe and it gets loose often. I will try to contact them and let them know.

Thank you all for continuing to look for our red canoe. We remain hopeful.

on the chance it's actually a Mohawk and not Monarch, I'll go by there today. We lost a red Mohawk canoe during the storms July 4 and neighbors said it blew right out of Bay Pine toward the islands. Been out today but haven't found it. Will look at Farrow. Thanks

You may be right about the name. Sorry, but it was a long day. I just hope it finds it's true owner.

Well, we just went over and cruised the entire island and it's not still there. Perhaps someone picked it up and took it to their dock for safe-keeping. Or, maybe it wasn't our canoe. We live in Bay Pine and in addition to down trees and power lines, we lost this canoe: a red Mohawk 16.5 foot (I think that's the length) with two seats between the stern and bow gunwhales. Hope we find it, it was the kids' cove transportation.

It was kinda hard to spot where it was. It was on the norhtern end of the island on the big water side. It was the first or second little 'cove' of the island. There are one or two downed trees in there also. I saw it on the way out about 10am. We got close enough to see that it was about half full of water already. It also had a line attached to it that was looped over a limb on the submerged tree. It had Mohawk (or Monarch) in big letters on the side and a small white sticker on what appeared to be the bow. I should have just towed it home but I thought it would be easier to find if left there. As we were coming back in I saw a wave wash over it and it listed 90 degrees, but righted itself. It was VERY low in the water by that time and may well be totally submerged now. All of my watercraftt are put away now, or I would go and check on it again for you.

We went around the islands to check for the red canoe as well. Didn't spot anything. Then we went by the fullers and saw they had a red boat on shore, so we didn't look any further. We live in the bay Pine area as well. I'll tell our neighbors that you are looking and to keep an eye out for it.

We went back to Farrow Island this morning and looked closer (even underwater near the shore) but with no luck. We are pretty sure that the canoe that you saw was ours from the location and description. Hopefully it will turn up, but in the meantime "Thank You" to those who posted the information...our children are keeping their fingers crossed. We too live in the Bay Pine area so it must be a good place for red canoes!

I regret not just bringing it home till I could locate it's owner. Sorry I got the info to you too late to help. Hopefully it will turn up someday in the future. In the 'old days' it would have stayed there till located by it's owner.
