Has anyone used cartridges that are off brandsd rather than those made by the printer company? If so, have you had any problems? Thanks.

If your printer is still under warranty, you may void your warranty by not using the real thing. Also, I would recommend that, should you decide to use the less expensive refilled cartridges, you select one that has some type of warranty with it. Some of the real cheap ones aren't sealed tightly and can really ruin your printer.

I have used them with mostly positive results in my old Epson printers. I have not tried them with my current Lexmark All-In-One 7170 printer.

One would also wonder about the ink cartridge refill applications. I have not tried them either, but have saved numerous Lexmark empties to possibly try. Common sense tells me it will be a big mess, but my wild side wants to try it. LOL

Office Max is currently running a special on black refiills. Any black refill is only $10 and you get a free coffee mug too. They also print a test strip and guarentee them to work in your printer.
