that Rick was one of the top 10 worst people on the face of this earth. That means Rick hit a chord that rationale people agree with. He is my hero. There are all sorts of people setting up Facebook pages supporting him and the youtube video is still getting a huge number of hits.

I am glad there are people like Rick in the media that are willing to disagree with the choosen one without fear of being called a racist. And Rick is from Chicago too.

but I don't particularly care for his theatrics. Understand that the WH Press Secretary took him on --- Geez, you would think we have enough problems without theatrics on both of their parts.

Keith Oberman is an idiiot.

I wouldn't exactly call it "taking him on". He went straight to class warfare ad hominum attacks (where does Santelli live? isn't he a commodities trader?, etc.) without addressing remotely the substance of the piece. The fact is that the Obama administration is doing exactly what FDR did, going to war with business. This deepened and lengthened the depression and will deepen and lengthen this recession. The markets are down 2,500 points since BO was elected and the reason is they value stocks today based on future expectations. Between the non-stimulus pork plan, the nationalization of business, now the specter of higher taxes already to pay off the pork plan, the war on business, etc. the markets are saying no thanks to their incompetence. We have been here before in the 1930's and because of the stupid voters we are going to repeat all the mistakes that led to 16 years of economic misery.

I heard some liberal this morning being critical of republicans ... saying they (republicans) need to realize Obama won and it is in the best interest of this country that Obama is successful, because if he is then the country is better and everyone wins.

Duh .... that can be said for any president ... but where were they when Bush was in office? Did they think that way or did they speak out? Now that they have their man they think everyone should just keep their mouth shut or not have an opposing view. Just fall on the sword and agree with Obama moving the country to socialism.

Sick, sick, sick.

Well Republicans do need to realize that Obama won, but they need to figure out how they are going to work with this administration. I think they are acting like a bunch of spoiled children. I'm so disgusted with politicians in general. And to think we elect these people.

They are standing by their beliefs .... isn't that what we heard from democrats when Bush was in office and they did not like what he was proposing? The problem is that the democrat and republican view of america and what is best has become so far left and right that there no longer is middle ground to reach and agreement for a united direction forward. I fear for our country. Many said there is the potential that Obama would change the country for the worst and I am afraid that is what we are seeing happen. His thoughts of marxism that he liked seem to be coming through.

I fear for our country because I think we are seeing a fundamental change. I'm not worried so much that Obama is driving us to Marxism or socialism. I'm more worried about our position as a world superpower in financial markets. I worry that we're seeing the last days of the America that you and I grew up in.

I see the economy as just another part the downward trend we are on. As a country, we're lost our way -- started somewhere in the mid-60's. We've been moving away from the values that made us the envy of other countries. I see it in our politicians -- look how many of them have ethical and legal issues. I believe that people didn't so much vote for Obama as they voted for "change". People are afraid of the way things are going -- not just the Bush Administration or the Clinton administration, and they are just hoping that someone knows the way out. Unfortunately, I think we have a lot more lessons to learn before we find our way out, and once we find the way out, we're looking at a much different country than any of us know. It's not that Obama is taking us there -- we've been on this road for a long time.

Re: the politicians, I think it is possible to stand by your beliefs while looking for places that you can work together. I still think this looks an awful like like politics as usual.

Oberman has got to be one of the biggest wastes of space on TV or any where else he happens to be. Why in the world NBC has him on their Sunday Night football coverage is beyond me. He is a joke. I certainly never watch him on MSNBC or whatever channel he is on.

We can certainly agree on that.
