I ate there too. The food was good, however, the service was TERRIBLE! and it was not because it was crowded. And, we are not very demanding.

We had to get up and ask for silverware and condiments after server basically blew us off. Go to bar for beverage and ask for tab.

They ended up giving us a complimentary dinner (NOT AT OUR SUGGESTION OR REQUEST).

At first, I was committed not to return, but I may try again, because I want business to succeed for selfish reasons.

Sounds interesting. I always give the food quality and prep more weighting in a newly opened restaurant. If my experience with the service is not good, I usually write that off to not trained enough, not a person that should be wait-staff or just a bad hair day. I do go back after a bit to see if the service has gotten to an acceptable level, i.e., not detract from the meal before I make a final judgment. And I agree, I hope they make it.

Is it my imagination or is the Dadeville area becoming a bit of a dining destination?

Yes, it is becoming a dinning destination. Good restaurants do not detract from each other, they build up each other. Now, if the owners are smart they will start talking to together to avoid poor staff (if they are not already doing so). Good staff is hard for our owners as we are still so seasonal. Takes awhile to get the summer extra's trained, fired & replaced, etc. No one should judge the restaurants too harshly at this time. Give em several more weeks to get it together.

Hmmm, makes me think of the cave, I mean cove. Service was never worth a dime. Niffers is another story - good service mostly hired in Auburn. Now that there is a larger group of people to hire from with the economy problems matbe this can be solved.

Thanks! I appreciate the post. I love the oysters, but others in family do not. We wondered how wide the selection was. Sounds great! We will check it out soon.
