I jsut repeated a neat trick I started doing a few years and thought some of you might like the idea if you don't already do it. Before throwing away the old, worn out lifejackets that accumilate, I cut the straps off of them. There is typically a lot of wear left in the straps when material is worn out on vest type jackets. These straps are adjsutable and have the neat clips. One use I get out of these is to keep all of the swimming noodles bundles when not in use. I like them better than bungie cords for this, since they are adjustable and have the clip. I have others in use in the garage and on the boat, but you get the idea.

I just thought others might like to give it a try.

...very good idea!....now here's another...when my trusty old red 1000 Amp battery booster dies (or got killed by my crossing polarities), I cut off the heavy duty cables w/ clamps to use for extensions and I take out the cigarette lighter sockets and file them away for later uses (example: installing cell phone charger in pontoon boat)....

Wonder if that would work with children? :-)

Good tip. I also keep old straps.

Another: When jumper cables go bad, cut of clamps. They are strong and useful for securing boat covers on your boat, especially your jet ski, since they have a nice lip. Put some duck tape over sharp points on clamps.
