There is a shallow area in the cove where the Manoy creek eagles nest is . It used to be marked , but the marker is now gone. Water depth is about 2 feet there. Be careful!

Hey for those new to the lake can you give a little more detail as to where it is?

Can you mark it with a jug?

The nest or the shallow spot?

The eagles nest is located just south of Dare Park. It is visible from a mile or so away, in the top of the tallest pine sticking out on the point. If you leave the beach at Dare Park and head into the big water you have to turn left into the river chanell. It is VERY shallow between the two smaller islands. The best vewing of the nest is around on the south side of the penensula that the nest is on. Just watch for the parade of boats on any Saturday and they will lead you right to the nest. They have a second fishing platform in the area also. The other pair has a nest on Chimney Rock Island.

Good luck, but remember the eagles are rarely at the nest during daylight hours now that the eaglets are gone.
