He could make you laugh and cry in the same story. Almost anyone could relate to one of his tales.

Not a Georgian but I remember him well. Read all his books and several compilations of different columns. He was the original "redneck comic'. I used to especially like the tales of his dog. I think the dogs name was catfish, but my CRS may be playing with me tonight. Sad he was taken so early in life.

If you don't, you aren't a Georgian....or you couldn't /can't read.

They actually have a meal on the menu named after him and that is what I always order. Remember seeing him quite often in my old neighborhood diner, The Blue Ribbon Grille.

That was one of his funniest lines. Do you have his tape? I got to see him speak at a meeting and I was amazed that he was the best in person. Too funny.

Kathy must have been one of his favorite wives. One of was so mean she even took his dog when she left! This thread brings up very fond memories of a wonderful guy!

I'll repeat this to this day: "I've been married 3 weeks, and they said it wouldn't last."

Now when people tell me how long they are married, I always say, "And they said it wouldn't last." They look at me so queerly....that is if they don't know Lewis.

Any other lines from LG?

He said he was a big fan of the women's lib movement. Said he had liberated a few himself...... referring to his numerous wives.
