At first, I felt a bit sorry for you. I saw a young man that made a mistake by being over zealous for his business, and used the forum incorrectly. If you would have ”ate crow” so to speak, I believe many on this forum (including myself) would have respected you. Maverick tried to help you with some very good advice, and you are now referring to him as "Genius". Respect can be lost very quickly, and it takes a long time to earn it back.

I now have to wonder about you as an individual and about your business sense. A confrontational attitude does not speak well for a business man. Some of the men you are belittling are corporate executives, former government officials, and business owners. They also have strong ties on this forum and in the lake martin area. Your statements and name calling, as well as bringing religion into the issue, make me wonder about your stability and your character.

This is not meant as an attack on you; only as friendly advice. I hope you can fix the perceptions you are creating for yourself, and that you are successful. You are however fighting an uphill battle on the forum...

Could not agree with you more jlacz. I normally just sit back and observe this sort of altercation however, I also feel Lawn Expert went over the edge. Having done 3 days of yard work last weekend at the lake, at my somewhat advanced age, I have begun the process of looking for help. When I saw Lawn's first post, I felt it was inappropriate but, chalked it up to his being a Newbie. I still may have inquired as to the services he offers but, after his subsequent posts, I have lost all interest in his company. I must now confirm what other respectful posters on this board have stated. Mr. Lawn, you have definitely lost 1 potential customer. Live and learn.

Thanks jlazc, been busy today and just show your post.

You are 100% correct in that my first post to Lawn Expert was just trying to help him out with some sold savy business advice. Basically the same principles we have run our business on for over 30 years. And our reputation is stellar in our industry when it comes to customer service, etc.

But the Dear Genius email I received, which I thought was totally inappropriate, based on the fact I was just trying to provide Lawn Expert with some good business advice, so I felt I would go on the defensive as he was beginning to attack my character, which I did not appreciate one bit. But you know what I guess it is ok, as I am in fact pretty smart, LOL.

This is a question for Lawn Experts. I noticed that you posted the exact same solicitation on numerous Alabama Lake forums including some quite a distance from Lake Martin. How do you manage to service such a wide area? Do you just target those who are away from home on a frequent basis? What is the exact name and base location of your business? Thanks for your response.

I wondered this yesterday and checked his site. He is from the area
around B'ham called Hoover. Being a weekender at the lake and
living in Ga I'm not sure where Hoover is exactly, but B'ham seems a long
way to come to do yardwork. Just my opinion, and everybody has one.

Hoover is just south of Birmingham down 65 and is one of the larger cities in the state of Alabama. It is probably 1 1/2 hours to the lake.

Hoover is just south of Vestavia (where I live), both southern 'burbs of Birmingham, so it's roughly 90 miles to Dadeville (depending upon whether he's on the 280 or I-65 side of Hoover, and it can take 30 minutes just to navigate the initial leg of "the loathsome 280" as I refer to it.
